Each of us has the capacity to heal and change until our last breath.
Each day will begin with āsana practice to open the subtle body channels. We will nourish ourselves with beautiful Mexican cuisine, take time to rest and rejuvenate and enjoy the gorgeous beaches of San Agustinillo.
The evenings will be dedicated to ritual practices to open our hearts and minds to gain insight into and ancestral and karmic patterning: japa (mantra), trāṭaka (candle gazing), temazcal ceremony, cacao, water blessing, and kīrtan will all be included through the week.
Our exclusive retreat in coastal Oaxaca will be limited to 20 people so that we will be able to work intimately.
About the Retreat
Our week-long retreat is carefully designed to provide you with:
Daily haṭha yoga sessions with hands-on therapeutic modifications and adjustments
Traditional Temazcal, Cacao, and Water Ceremonies
Japa and trāṭaka: outdoor fires are prohibited so we will practice working with mantra and the fire element through chanting while gazing at a candle flame. We will build this practice throughout the week.
Satsaṅga: Daily time for discussion of practice, health topics, and integration circles following rituals

Meet your Guides

Scott has integrated Traditional Chinese (TCM), Ayurveda, Yoga somatics, and evidence based nutrition into his clinical practice and educational offerings for more than 25 years. Experience has taught him that the one secret to health is not a what, not a product or a specific practice, but how to adapt whatever you are doing so it remains potent and agile through the days and seasons of your life.
Through the pandemic his work shifted to more online offerings that integrate microbiome science with Ayurveda and hatha yoga somatics. Scott’s current offerings include clinical work, integrative wellness courses, and one-on-one health coaching in Longevity Mastery.
Scott received his Biology degree in 1993 from UC Santa Cruz and his TCM licensure from the Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine in 1998. Renowned Ayurvedic physician and scholar Dr. Robert Svoboda mentored Scott and they have worked together for more than twenty years. Additionally, Scott studied hatha yoga with master Shandor Remete (Sundernath) for over 20 years. Always passionate about integrative medicine, Scott began his career pioneering yoga-based wellness classes and acupuncture at the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara and Hospice of Santa Barbara in 1996. Since 2008, he has been a faculty member of the Kripalu School of Ayurveda.

Suite Ébano comes with 4 single beds, a couch corner and a working space. The separate bathroom with shower offers all necessary essentials, including beach towels. It’s balcony allows you to enjoy a fantastic panoramic sea view!

Bungalow Bioiguana
Bioiguana is a beautiful bungalow with a big window front (only covered with mosquito net) and offers space for up to 4 people. It comes with a bathroom with shower, a beautiful terrace with hammocks and a fridge.
TRIPLE OCCUPANCY $1,650.00
Suite Lira
Suite Lira comes with 3 single beds and 1 fullsize bed. It’s ideal for retreat participants, families or friends, that want to spend time together at Zazil Reatreat. It’s balcony offers a spectacular panoramic seaview. A couch corner, a large wardrobe and an office space are other amenities of this suite.

This trip has a lot of logistics to coordinate to make it happen as smoothly and safely as possible.
For full transparency, here is our refund policy:
There are no refunds on the initial payment which is 25% of the total cost of the trip. If you or someone that you take care of has a medical emergency, please let us know and we are happy to discuss refunding your deposit.
We will offer refunds on the remaining sum as follows:
Up to three months prior to departure, you will receive a full refund minus the initial deposit.
Two months prior to departure, you will receive a 50% refund minus the initial deposit.
After that, no refunds on any portion will be given.
